Is microsoft going to fix the 360 hardwar problem?

As most gamers know, the xbox 360 is prone to hardware failures or ''the 3 red rings of death''. I know microsoft has extended the warranty on the 360 for these problems, but are they going to actually fix the problem? Are they going to come out with an updated xbox 360 that will not have these problems? Because it's kind of stupid to buy a system that will break all the time, even if you can fix it for free. I am planning to buy a 360, so I was wondering if microsoft will make an updated 360, and if not, can anyone tell me the percentage of failures?

No, Microsoft is too lazy. Use Linux.

The current failure rate is 33%. Microsoft estimates that 75% will succumb to the Red Ring of Death with in the first three years after purchase....

Basically you can't fix what you can't find.... Microsoft can't find the problem...First they thought it was heat produced by the processor. Then they thought it was combined heat from the processor and heat created from game disc spin...Now that those two issues have been illiminated as the culprit it appears it is a disfunction on the motherboard itself causing the componants to warp. They still haven't found the cause.
